I copied this style from a vintage cord jacket, in wool gabardine. Lined with vintage fabric backed with organic flannel, quilted with the chainstitch machine.

Three zip jacket, sage green organic twill

This jacket is cut the same as the “Nudie”, without the contast piping. There’s bound zip chest pockets, and welt pockets on the hip.

It looks great in all organic twill colours.

the nudiecaster

This is Nudie, who fronts the band Nudie and the Turks. He’s wearing the Golden West jacket also called Nudie.

I first saw Nudie and the Turks at the Hank Snow Tribute a few years back. They played a great set topped with a blistering version of Hank’s “Golden Rocket” that had the crowd on their feet.

Here’s some of what Country Music News said about their recent CD “Looking for a Good Time”:

“Sometimes the most interesting and enjoyable albums in Cancountry come from unlikely sources. the nudie jacket

Organic cotton twill, with offwhite piping and a piped metal zip. In addition to the orange and black, it can also be made in brown, navy, sage, and ultramarine. I may have other colours and fabrics around to suggest, too.

The Nudie jacket is named, of course, for Nudie Cohn, king of the western tailors.

The first sample of this jacket was in burnt orange, for a singer not uncoincidentally also named Nudie. He plays traditional country music with his band The Turks, named in honour of another king of rodeo clothes, Nathan Turk.
